School ownership of data

At GoGuardian, we firmly support the fact that school districts should and do own and control their students' "Personal Student Information". We take great efforts to collaborate with customers to provide them the ability to access, modify, and delete this data consistent with FERPA, COPPA, and all other applicable laws.

• Schools utilize GoGuardian to help achieve compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
• Schools own and control their Personal Student Information and can request deletion of Personal Student Information at any time.
• Schools control their settings - such as where and when GoGuardian's services are active and which websites are on and off limits when using GoGuardian Admin.

For example, we use military-grade TLS encryption across our products and websites to protect personal information in transit, and we restrict access to Personal Student Information on a "need-to-know" basis.

• GoGuardian controls access to Personal Student Information but honors specific requests to access, modify, and delete the Personal Student Information made by parents/guardians, and eligible students (students over eighteen-years-old) in accordance with applicable law
• GoGuardian Implements additional policies, procedures, requirements, and training for employees who need to access Personal Student Information to perform their job functions.
